PAUL Currie will take sole charge of Preston Athletic following the departure of Paul Montgomery.
The duo were announced as co-managers during the close season after Jack Lynch left the club.
Montgomery, who led the club’s under-20s squad last season, and former Musselburgh Athletic midfielder Currie, had made a promising start to the new season.
However, the club announced before the weekend’s victory over Dunbar United that Montgomery was moving on.
They said: “Preston Athletic co-manager Paul Montgomery has asked to be released from his contract with immediate effect so he can pursue an opportunity to work abroad. While we desperately wanted to retain Paul, the club have agreed to his request.
“The existing management will remain in their roles. We would like to thank Paul for his efforts within the club and wish him success in the future.”
Meanwhile, Lynch was appointed the new manager at fellow East of Scotland Football League First Division side Whitehill Welfare on Monday evening.
