Match of the day

Tranent Juniors v Gala Fairydean Rovers

Scottish Lowland Football League

Tranent Juniors last five games: WWDWW

MANAGERLESS Tranent Juniors look to continue their impressive form when they welcome Gala Fairydean Rovers to Foresters Park.

Calum Elliot left the Belters last week but his former side were still 2-0 winners away to Bo’ness United.

Those three points pushed Tranent up to sixth in the league – eight points off top spot but with two games in hand.

Their visitors, managed by former Hibs and Livingston midfielder Martin Scott, will be looking to bounce back after going down 5-1 to Open Goal Broomhill.

Coldstream v Dunbar United

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Dunbar United last five games: WWWWW

FIVE wins in a row means Dunbar United come into their latest First Division clash full of confidence.

The most recent triumph came in the preliminary round of the Scottish Cup where they knocked out Premier Division Vale of Leithen.

Kevin Haynes’ team will turn their focus back to league business this evening and another trip south as they head to Coldstream.

Victory would put the Seasiders joint top of the table, although, they would need to win by 13 goals to go top of the pile!

Coldstream come into the contest bottom of the table with three defeats from three games.

Their Scottish Cup journey was ended by former Junior heavyweights Auchinleck Talbot, who won 7-0 in Ayrshire.

Ormiston Primrose v Arniston Rangers

East of Scotland Football League Second Division

Ormiston Primrose last five games: LDWLL

INCONSISTENT would be a fair description of Ormiston Primrose’s start to the season.

The county side have taken four points from their opening five league encounters and sit a point above the drop zone in the Second Division.

This evening presents a chance to add to that tally and hopefully climb the table.

They welcome an Arniston Rangers team who have also been inconsistent.

The Midlothian outfit have drawn two and lost two of their opening five contests and also scored 13 goals and conceded 11.

Victory for Richie Weir’s team would pull them level on points with their opposition.

Haddington Athletic v Tynecastle (Wednesday)

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Haddington Athletic last five games: LLLLW

WEST of Scotland Football League champions Darvel ended Haddington Athletic’s Scottish Cup dreams on Saturday.

Now, Scott Bonar’s men can get back to looking to pick up points in the top flight of the East of Scotland Football League.

The reigning First Division Conference A champions have been inconsistent this term with a number of players missing out through injury.

Four points from four games is not the worst points total but they will be keen to improve their form as Tynecastle – one spot below them in the table – visit Millfield.

The Capital club’s only three points this campaign came earlier this month, when they defeated Musselburgh at Olivebank.
