TRANENT Juniors are on the lookout for a new manager following the shock resignation of Calum Elliot.

The former Hearts and Motherwell striker guided the team to the Scottish Lowland Football League (SLFL) for the first time in their history.

The Belters won the top flight of the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) last term before going on to defeat both St Cuthbert Wanderers, winners of the South of Scotland Football League (SoSFL), and West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) champions Darvel for a place in the fifth tier of Scottish football.

The manager leaves with the side sitting eighth in the SLFL having taken 10 points from a possible 15 this campaign.

Tranent Juniors took to social media to highlight the news and said: “The club would like to place on record its thanks to Calum for his time with us and we wish him all the best in the future.

“The process to recruit Calum’s successor is already under way with an update to follow in due course.”
