THERE were some top performances from East Lothian athletes at the Scottish Schools Track and Field competition at Grangemouth on June 17 and 18.
There were personal bests and medals aplenty in the middle distance events, with many also being awarded ‘standard’ badges.
Scottish Schools award these badges to runners who equal or better the ‘badge standard’ for their specific event.
Corey Campbell, representing George Heriots, won the 1,500m final, and finished fast with a time of 4:17.68.
Innes Wright, from North Berwick High School, was sixth in the same race, running 4:30.00.
Katie Johnson, running for George Watsons, ran badge standards over both days of the competition for both her 800m and 1,500m, and medalled in both.
She ran a time of 2:17.46 to win gold in the 800m, and ran 4:52.90 for silver in the 1,500m.
Meanwhile, Fraser Lupton, from James Gillespie’s High School, earned a silver medal in the 800m with his time of 2:04.21, which also surpassed badge standard.
Maja Thomson (North Berwick High School) and Aidan Page (Dunbar Grammar School) both ran well to win bronze medals in their 800m races.
Thomson ran 2:20.78 and Page 2:00.91 (badge standard).
Jamie Smith, from Portobello, was fourth in his 800m heat (2:09.59) and Cerys Wright had a strong run to finish fourth in the 1500m final with a run of 4:56.60 (badge standard).
Flora Henry, from Portobello High School, had a fantastic run in the 3,000m, to win a silver medal with a badge standard time of 10:32.50.
Howie Allison represented Loretto School in the 1,500m and won a bronze medal and earned a badge with his time of 4:27.62.
Finally, Joe Smith finished ninth in the 1,500m final with a time of 4:55.72.
