LINLITHGOW Rose fought back from two goals down to stop Tranent Juniors from recording a league and cup double.

The Belters, who last month won promotion to the Scottish Lowland Football League after winning the East of Scotland Football League Premier Division, were looking to lift the League Cup.

Calum Elliot’s men got off to the perfect start when the returning Jamie Docherty scored twice from the penalty spot.

However, the West Lothian opposition netted a penalty of their own through Mark Stowe before the break.

Alan Docherty levelled things up before Linlithgow captain Gary Thom netted a winner at Newtongrange Star’s New Victoria Park.
