HADDINGTON Athletic will be playing in the top flight of the East of Scotland Football League next season.
An Alassan Jones free-kick six minutes from time against Kennoway Star Hearts gave the Hi Hi a 2-1 win.
At the same time, Leith Athletic lost out to Thornton Hibs to ensure Haddington could not be caught at the top of First Division Conference A with two games to play.
Shaun Hill had scored just before the half time interval but the Fife side had levelled things shortly after the hour mark.
The free-kick from Jones sparked wild celebrations on the Haddington bench.
Scott Bonar's side has lost just one game in the league this season.
