ALEX Marshall’s bid for a seventh pairs title at the World Indoor Championships has been ended.
The Tranent bowler had linked up with Paul Foster looking to once again land the top prize.
They were in action today (Monday) against fellow Scottish bowlers Stewart Anderson and Darren Burnett.
Marshall and Foster had already beaten Lyndon Sham and Ken Chan in the last 16 to reach the quarter-finals.
But their journey came to an end as they lost 2-1 (10-4, 6-7, 2-0) to Anderson and Burnett.
However, East Lothian’s interest at the tournament in Norfolk is not over yet.
Tomorrow (Tuesday), John McCrorie, of East Lothian Indoor Bowling Club, faces off against Foster in the first round of the open singles.
Then, on Thursday, Marshall takes on Ireland’s Mark McPeak for a spot in the second round.
