AN ANKLE injury denied Rory Darge the chance to make his Scotland debut on Saturday.
The Glasgow Warriors man was one of a number of uncapped players in Gregor Townsend’s squad ahead of the Autumn Nations Series.
However, Darge, of Aberlady, was forced to watch on from the sidelines as Scotland clocked up a 60-14 win over Tonga at BT Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday.
His absence, which will also see him miss this weekend, also opened the door for Hamish Watson to come into the team.
The Scotland head coach said: “Rory has an ankle injury. He’s had a scan and needs to see a surgeon just to get his expertise around how long that will be, but in our minds it’s going to be this week and next week that he’ll be unavailable.”
That means Darge, 21, will miss Scotland’s clash with Australia on Sunday and likely the game with South Africa the following Saturday.
Scotland finish the Autumn Nations Series against Japan on November 20, with Darge possibly then coming back into contention.
