ALL four of East Lothian’s football teams were victorious in the South Region Challenge Cup today (Saturday).

Haddington Athletic, Preston Athletic, Ormiston and Tranent Juniors were all in action in the second round of the competition.

Scott Bonar’s Haddington, who sit top of the First Division Conference A, were up against Leith Athletic, who sit second in the table.

Many would have predicted a tight contest but the Millfield men powered to a 4-1 victory over their promotion rivals.

Gabri Auriemma opened the scoring midway through the first half and Guy McGarry added a double to put Haddington 3-0 up at half time.

Leith managed to pull one back but Auriemma wrapped things up in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, at the Pennypit, Preston Athletic continued their own impressive run.

They are challenging at the top of the First Division Conference B and came through 2-1 against Peebles Rovers.

First half strikes from Steven McCole and Kieran Jack meant the score was 2-1 at the break and there were no goals after the interval.

Ormiston have struggled in front of goal this season but came through against Hawick Royal Albert United.

Reece Cochrane found the net in the first half and Sulaimain Ashraf ensured it was the East Lothian side going through with a strike after the break.

Tranent were the only East Lothian side away from home as they made the short journey to Newtongrange Star.

Shaun Rutherford’s goal had Calum Elliot’s men in front at the break but the hosts pulled level.

Finally, with time running out, former Livingston man Matty Knox found the net to put Tranent through.

Attention now turns to the Scottish Cup next weekend, with Dunbar United, Haddington, Preston and Tranent all in action.

Dunbar host Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale while Preston Athletic welcome Auchinleck Talbot.

Both Haddington and Tranent are away from home as Bonar’s men head for Brechin City and Tranent take on Broomhill.
