BUDDING footballers at Musselburgh Windsor are celebrating after securing an impressive treble.

The club’s under-13s won the South East Region Youth Football Association First Division and also secured two cups.

They were taken to penalties by Bonnyrigg Rose in the final of the Stewart Brien Cup after a 3-3 draw, with Robert Copland, Max Black and Ben Liddle on target.

Windsor kept their cool to win 3-2 from the spot and they defeated the same opposition to win the Peter O’Neil Cup.

On that occasion, Denim Walker and Fergus Dempsey-Black found the net in a 2-1 victory.

Meanwhile, the club’s unbeaten under-17s have been crowned league champions.

The team topped South-East Region FA Division One after winning seven of their eight games and drawing the other in a season impacted by coronavirus.

Scott Robertson, who coaches the team, described it as “a good outcome” and added: “I have to pay tribute to Farmers Autocare in Musselburgh, who have sponsored this team year after year at 11-a-side and ensured the boys have the best of strips to represent the club.”
