TWO talented youngsters have taken the next step on ‘The Road to Wimbledon’.

Sixteen under-14 tennis players took part in the competition at Haddington Tennis Club at the end of May.

‘The Road to Wimbledon’ is the biggest junior tournament in British tennis and gives all under-14 players the opportunity to progress through to compete on the world-famous grass courts at Wimbledon.

A spokesperson for the club said: “Both the play and the weather were great with Kyla Hynd and Angus Bailey finishing top in the round-robin tournament.

"They will now go on to the next round to be held at The Grange in Edinburgh, where the winners of these county ties will be invited to play at Wimbledon from August 8-14.”
