CATRIONA Matthew tees off her final round at the AIG Women's Open this morning (Sunday).

The North Berwick golfer sits tied for 40th place with a score of eight-over par after the first three rounds at Royal Troon.

That puts her 12 shots behind overnight leader Sophia Popov.

The 27-year-old leader has a three-shot advantage going into the final day of the competition as she looks to win her first Major.

Matthew had enjoyed an impressive opening day at the tournament, which she won in 2009.

A round of 71 had left her on level par and in the top five.

However, Friday's round of 76 saw her slip down the leaderboard.

Yesterday (Saturday), bogeys on the final two holes, along with a dropped shot on hole seven, saw her finish on 74.

Matthew tees off at 10.05am.
