A FATHER and son are celebrating after clinching top titles on the same bowling green.

Scott and Logan Kennedy were crowned champions at Cockenzie and Port Seton Bowling Club.

Dad Scott, an emergency planning officer with East Lothian Council, won the gents’ championship for the third time in four years when he edged out Jamie Gordon 21-20 with a last bowl winner.

And his son, who represents East Lothian youths at bowls and plays football for Longniddry Villa, was not to be outdone as he took the youth championship after defeating Ben Gearty 21-16 in the final.

Scott, 44, said: “I’m very proud of what Logan has achieved in bowls so far and hopefully he can go on to combine his bowling with his football through his school years and continue to have success at both.”

The family are no strangers to success on the bowling green.

Logan, 11, in first year at Preston Lodge High School, won the youth championship at Wallyford Bowling Club in 2014 when he was just six years old.

Dad Scott is also a previous club champion in Tranent and West Barns.

The family live in Port Seton, with Scott’s partner Kelly Clark and step-daughter Lucy Hogg, who won the Cockenzie and Port Seton Bowling Club youth championship last year.
