DRAWS were the order of the day last night (Wednesday) as three of East Lothian's senior football teams shared the points.

Tranent, Haddington Athletic and Ormiston were all in action and all had to settle for a single point, with Preston Athletic the only county winners on the night.

The Foresters Park side kept up their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 3-3 draw at home to newly-relegated Whitehill Welfare.

However, it could have been all three points with the hosts leading the game at half time.

They are again at home on Saturday when they welcome Jeanfield Swifts.

Haddington also kept up their unbeaten start to the season but they were made to work hard at Millfield.

The Hi Hi were 2-0 down to Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale but managed to pull level six minutes into the second half.

However, the visitors would put themselves back in front with Haddington finding another leveller with just six minutes left.

They travel to Heriot Watt University on Saturday, who have won one and lost one of their opening two fixtures.

Finally, Ormiston fought back to take a point at home to Craigroyston.

The East Lothian side were a goal down at the break but fought back to lead 2-1 only for Craigroyston to take their first point of the season.

Next up for Ormiston is a trip to league leaders Kinnoull on Saturday.

The only winners last night (Wednesday) were Preston Athletic, who opened their season in style with a 6-0 win away to Tweedmouth Rangers.

Preston welcome Stirling University to the Pennypit on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Musselburgh Athletic and Dunbar United were both in action on Tuesday evening.

Musselburgh were looking to bounce back following opening day defeat to their county rivals but Newtongrange Star proved too strong.

The Midlothian side ran out 3-1 winners and Musselburgh will now look to get their first points of the season at home to Sauchie Juniors on Saturday.

Dunbar were also on the losing side, with Penicuik 4-0 winners.

Geoff Jones' men now travel to Hill of Beath Hawthorn on Saturday looking to pick up a win.

All the games on Saturday kick-off at 2.30pm.
