TWO-TIME world darts champion Gary Anderson survived another scare to reach the quarter-finals of the PDC World Championship.

Anderson, of Musselburgh, trailed by two sets and 3-2 before coming through to beat world number 36 Chris Dobey last night (Thursday).

Anderson, 48, defeated Jermaine Wattimena 5-3 in the seventh and deciding set in the previous round.

Yesterday, Anderson needed three darts at double six to wrap up the nervy victory and set up a tie with either Dave Chisnall, seeded number 12, or 28th seed Jamie Lewis.

The quarter-final will be played at London’s Alexandra Palace tomorrow (Saturday).

Anderson won the title in 2015 and 2016 and also lost the following year to Michael van Gerwen, who he could face in the semi-finals.
