GARY Orr became the first home winner of the Scottish Senior Open in more than a decade as he triumphed at Craigielaw Golf Club on Sunday.
He carded rounds of 68, 65 and 76 to finish four-under-par overall and win by one shot from Englishman Paul Streeter.
And it was a double celebration for Orr as victory at Craigielaw was also his first on the Staysure Tour.
And immediately after his win yesterday (Sunday), he said: "I’m really pleased to get over the line, especially on a day like today.
"I’ve had a few good finishes recently and it was just a case of someone playing a little bit better."
The 51-year-old from Helensburgh also reflected on "brutal" weather conditions, adding: "I made some solid pars to keep it going.
"The conditions were hard anyway, but even tougher when you’re trying to win a tournament."
And while Streeter finished as runner-up, there was a four-way tie for third between Austrian Marrkus Brier, Argentina's Rafael Gomez, Welshman Philip Price and England's David Shacklady, who all finished level par.
