RUGBY ace Liz Musgrove will travel to Russia this week after she was named as part of the Scotland Women 7s squad for the second leg of the Rugby Europe Grand Prix.
Former North Berwick High School pupil Musgrove is one of nine XVs caps included in the 12-strong squad, which is captained by Helen Nelson.
Sula Callender, a former Ross High School pupil from Pencaitland, was included in the wider training squad but has not been included in the final party.
Head coach Scott Forrest said: “We are in a very positive place going into the second leg.
“I’m pleased with the effort every member of the training squad has put in and there’s a really good balance to the travelling team.
“Paris was the first taste of this level of sevens for a lot of our squad, so we’ve learned from that and will be aiming for a strong start.”
Scotland Women 7s open their account against Wales, while they also play Russia and Portugal in the group phase.
Their results on day one (Saturday) will determine who they play on Sunday.
Scotland finished eighth in the first round of the Grand Prix in Marcoussis when they qualified for the cup section.
They will be guaranteed a spot in next summer’s Grand Prix should they secure a place in the top 10 overall this weekend.
