TWO East Lothian rugby starlets are heading for the World Rugby U20 Championship in France this summer.

Rory Darge and Cammy Hutchison have been named in a 28-man squad for the competition, which gets under way on May 30.

The pair are both former North Berwick High School pupils and back-rower Darge was involved during the U20 Six Nations, despite being just 17 at the start of that championships.

Centre Hutchison returns following injury – he was a mainstay of the side during last season but has not been involved at all this term.

Prop Finn Hobbis, from Aberlady, was part of the Six Nations training squad but did not feature and has missed out on selection.

Bryan Redpath, Scotland U20 head coach. said: “We still have a lot of work to do as we prepare to face Italy at the end of the month but I have every confidence that this group of players will be prepared for what is building up to be a really exciting tournament.

“We’re really eager to get started in a few weeks’ time and I’m looking forward to playing a role in the development of this strong squad.”

Scotland U20 start against Italy on Wednesday, May 30, before facing Argentina four days later.

Their pool stage is completed when they face England, who the Scots beat in the Six Nations, on June 7.

The results in those matches will determine the young Scots’ opposition for the competition’s latter stages.
