A North Berwick rugby pair will play for Edinburgh Rugby in the club's first-ever Guinness Pro14 play-off match tomorrow (Saturday).

Chris Dean has recovered from the ankle injury that ruled him out of the 1872 Cup win over Glasgow Warriors last week and takes his place in the side.

The 24-year-old replaces Junior Rasolea – his 11th-hour replacement against the Warriors – at inside centre.

His re-introduction is one of three changes to the side that beat Glasgow, Mark Bennett replaces James Johnstone as Dean's centre partner while Scotland cap Blair Kinghorn returns at ful-back as Dougie Fife moves to the wing. Jason Harries drops out.

Carmichael, who celebrated his 23rd birthday on Wednesday, is retained among the replacements.

The former North Berwick RFC lock has been selected on the bench ahead of club captain Fraser McKenzie and will provide cover for Scotland duo Grant Gilchrist and Ben Toolis.

Edinburgh travel to Thomond Park, Limerick, in their first-ever play-off match looking to set up a semi-final with Leinster in two weeks' time.

Richard Cockerill, Edinburgh head coach, said: “It’s going to be a big day for us and we have earned the right to be there.

“We can beat them if we get it right.

We’re looking forward to it and these are the challenges we want.

“We know if we play at our best, we will give ourselves opportunities to beat Munster."

Tomorrow's game is live on BBC Alba and Sky Sports, kicking off at 3.15pm.
