NORTH Berwick rugby ace Lewis Carmichael has been handed an Edinburgh Rugby recall and will start their European Challenge Cup match against Stade Francais in the French Capital tomorrow (Saturday).

The  former North Berwick RFC man will partner club captain Fraser McKenzie in the second row for the match against the French giants, which was effectively made a dead-rubber by Edinburgh's 34-33 win over the Parisians a week ago.

With that in mind, Edinburgh boss Richard Cockerill has made eight changes to the side, in which scrum-halves Nathan Fowles and Sam Hidalgo-Clyne are set to make milestone appearances.

Fowles, who starts, will win his 50th cap for the club, while Hidalgo-Clyne will make his 100th appearance if he comes off the bench.

Carmichael's East Lothian colleagues Tom Brown, Callum Hunter-Hill, Chris Dean and Ally Miller all miss out on selection - Brown and Dean through injury.

Elsewhere, Musselburgh-born Huw Jones starts for Glasgow Warriors as they host Exeter Chiefs.

Jones - this week named in the Scotland squad for the NatWest Six Nations - wears the number 13 jersey in a backline that includes Stuart Hogg, fit again after injury.

Aviva Premiership champions Exeter have left Ollie Atkins, the former Edinburgh lock whose dad Michael was born in Haddington, out of their 23-man squad for the trip to Scotstoun.
