A TOP of the table clash is the highlight as a full card of rugby action returns this weekend.

Ross High are unbeaten so far this campaign and sit second in East League Division 2, but face league leaders Barnton in Tranent on Saturday.

East Lothian Courier:

The Tranent side's weekend match with Royal Dick Vet was called off as the Edinburgh side were unable to raise a team.

And this time out, they will face Scottish Rugby's newest league team.
Barnton only formed in the summer after a breakaway club formed from Royal High Corstorphine (RHC), but boast a majority of the RHC side that contested the national leagues last term.

They are only 11 points shy of the 1,000 mark for the league season, and have conceded only 85 to top the table by two points from Ross High.

Meanwhile, in East 1, second-place North Berwick are on the road to face Berwick, currently in third, at Scremerston.

Grant Craig's side's only blemish this season was against leaders Hawick Harlequins in September, and they will hope to keep up the pace at the top with another win.

And in the national leagues, Musselburgh are at Netherdale to tackle Gala in National 1, while Preston Lodge face a trip to the Gytes as Peebles are their weekend hosts in National 2.

The Borders side go into that match fresh from BT National League Cup victory over Haddington, and the Reds will hope to bounce back as they return to National 3 action, hosting Hillhead Jordanhill at Neilson Park.

Rhodri Thomas' side have recorded only one win all season and are in the relegation places, but a win could see them move clear and leapfrog 10th-place Orkney.

All the weekend's games kick-off at 2pm.
