PARALYMPICS star David Porcher has left Preston Athletic, but will remain in the county, having signed for Musselburgh Athletic.
The teenager, who has cerebral palsy, left the Lowland League club after a string of eye-catching displays for Team GB in the 7-a-side football competition in Brazil.
Porcher, who works for RBS, said Rio was "the best experience of my life", but was looking forward to a new challenge under Burgh boss Calvin Shand.
He told Courier Sport: "I'm looking forward to giving the top Junior league a bash.
"I've known Calvin for years – he was one of my coaches at Hibs - and I'm excited for a new challenge."
Porcher said he enjoyed his time at the Pennypit, but said it "wasn't the same" after returning from the Paralympics, and he asked to leave the club.
He made his Musselburgh debut on Saturday, coming on as a second-half substitute in the 4-1 victory at Fauldhouse.
Musselburgh Athletic boss Calvin Shand was delighted to have signed the highly-rated Porcher.
He told Courier Sport: "I had him while I was at Hibs, in the 16s and 17s, so I've known him for a while.
"I know him as a person and a player, and he's definitely the right type of person to get into our squad.
"In terms of his quality, he's more than good enough – he did really well when he came on on Saturday."
