A NORTH Berwick business was voted the cream of the crop at this year’s Royal Highland Show.
Alanda’s Gelateria scooped the top award for the best ice cream during this year’s show, held at Ingliston last week.
They claimed two gold awards, 10 silvers and two bronzes and were awarded the prize for overall dairy produce champion.
Valentina Black, one of the directors at the business, said she was “blown away and overjoyed” with their successes.
She told the Courier: “This is an absolute honour as this means out of every ice cream producer entered, which includes some huge brand names, we have been named the best.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the results, and as a tiny family business producing high-quality ice cream with local milk, cream and berries in our little North Berwick shop every day, we are totally blown away and overjoyed!”
After their success, Valentina said the trophy had been sent away for engraving, but added: “It will be proudly on display in the shop.”
