TWO people have been charged after what police described as a "significant amount of controlled drugs" was found in Musselburgh.
Police stopped a Ford Focus on Ladywell Way at about 3.40pm last Friday and carried out a search of the vehicle.
The search revealed quantities of heroin, cocaine and diazepam worth an estimated value of about £2,800.
Two people were arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A 39-year-old man appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday and a 37-year-old-woman will appear in court at a later date.
Sergeant Derek MacDonald from Tranent Police Station said: “We are committed to tackling drug crime in East Lothian and this recovery has ensured these harmful substances did not make their way onto our streets.”
