A MUSSELBURGH man who had his sentence deferred for him to be of good behaviour has now been jailed after it emerged he was in custody.
Steven Archibald was told to stay out of trouble by a sheriff after he admitted behaving in an aggressive manner at his MacBeth Moir Road flat on November 28 last year.
Archibald locked police officers inside his home, repeatedly uttered threats of violence and brandished a fork to his own neck during the incident.
The 49-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last February to plead guilty and sentence was deferred for him to be of good behaviour to last week.
But when the case called, Sheriff John Cook was told that Archibald was currently in custody on a separate matter.
Sheriff Cook imposed a fine of £450 that was not payable by the accused and instead he was sentenced to a 14-day custodial sentence.
