A WAREHOUSE in the centre of Haddington looks set to be transformed into a new family home.
The four-storey building, including a basement, to the rear of the town’s High Street dates back to the 18th century.
Currently, the basement is used as storage for a business on neighbouring High Street.
However, the remaining three storeys are vacant and, according to planning officials, “in a state of disrepair”.
East Lothian Council’s planning department has now given the green light to Shanthi Shivakumar to turn the building into a home.
Drawings included with the application show a bedroom on the ground floor, with a living room and kitchen on the floor above.
The second and third floors then each feature a bathroom and a bedroom.
The plans were given the go-ahead after the local authority noted that there were no objections from members of the public.
