THE Brunton is looking for enthusiastic and talented performers to play the chorus in A Christmas Carol – this year’s pantomime, produced in association with Wonder Fools.
The chorus will join the professional cast on stage at both Loretto Theatre in Musselburgh and the Corn Exchange in Haddington.
Working in rotation, these groups play a crucial role.
Participants are not required to pay a fee to be part of this production.
Those eligible to audition will be in school years P4-S4, under 16 and able to sing, dance and act.
Auditions take place next Thursday (September 19) at Musselburgh Grammar School.
Those taking part are required to sign in from 5.30pm; the audition will run 6-8pm.
Audition slots must be booked in advance by email to theatreadmin@eastlothian.gov.uk no later than Monday with the participant’s full name, date of birth, medical conditions (if any), emergency contact, address and school included.
Weekly rehearsals begin next month at Musselburgh Grammar School. The full rehearsal schedule will be confirmed at the audition.
A spokesperson said: “The Brunton’s annual pantomime is a much-loved festive extravaganza.
“Joining the chorus is a fantastic experience and a wonderful opportunity to take part in a professional production.
“A Christmas Carol is produced by The Brunton and written and directed by Jack Nurse and Robbie Gordon from Wonder Fools, who have previously brought fantastic theatre 549: Scots of the Spanish Civil War and McNeill of Tranent to East Lothian.”
