A PRESTONPANS man has been fined more than £1,000 after he assaulted three people in the town.

Lewis Anderson pushed his first victim on the body before striking the man to the head during a fracas on the town’s High Street on June 2.

Anderson then seized a woman on the head and pulled her to the ground, where she struck her head. He also seized her by the neck during the attack.

The 32-year-old also assaulted a third person by seizing her to the head and pulling her to the ground, where she also struck her head.

Anderson, of Middleshot Square, pleaded guilty to all three assaults during a hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.

Sheriff Stewart issued three fines covering all three charges and told Anderson that he had to pay a total of £1,040.
