A TRANENT woman has been ordered to carry out unpaid work as punishment for assaulting her partner.
Lauren McKinnon, of Well Wynd, punched her girlfriend to the head and struggled with her during a row at an address on Tyne Court, Pencaitland.
Police were alerted to the disturbance on August 6 and 24-year-old McKinnon was arrested and later charged with assault.
She appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month, where she admitted the charge and sentence was deferred to last week for reports to be prepared.
When she returned to court, Sheriff Stewart placed McKinnon on a community payback order with the stipulation she carry out 50 hours of unpaid work in the community.
The sheriff also agreed not to impose a non-harassment order.
