A BID for a Premier store in the centre of Dunbar has taken another step forward.
Last month, the Courier revealed plans for a near-£300,000 makeover of the former Turnbull’s Home Hardware on the town’s High Street.
Shivakumar Kandaswamy, who runs both the Day-Today and Haddington Wines and Whiskies on Haddington High Street, is behind the plans.
Now, two planning applications have been validated by East Lothian Council’s planning department.
The proposals look at the change in signs on the front of the building, as well as the potential of installing lattice shutters.

A decision on both applications is expected by early November.
Mr Kandaswamy previously outlined that up to eight jobs could be created through the business.
He said: “We will have wines, craft beers, gins, mainly Scottish gins, and then East Lothian produce because East Lothian is the larder of Scotland.
“We want to focus on putting in a lot of local produce.”
