A COOKERY school has enjoyed the sweet taste of success after scooping a top national award.
Yarrow Cookery School, which will open a new facility in Longniddry later this year, was crowned Cookery School of the Year at Foods Awards Scotland.
The ceremony, which took place in Glasgow on August 26, brought the culinary industry together to celebrate their achievements.
While many notable institutions were contenders, including the Edinburgh New Town Cookery School, which received a highly commended nod, Yarrow Cookery School was crowned the winner.
Richard Yarrow, from the cookery school, which is currently based between East Linton and East Fortune, said: “Winning this award is a dream come true, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to our new space.
“Whether you’re joining us for a hands-on class, relaxing at our bar, or exploring the stunning East Lothian countryside, we promise an experience that’s as enriching as it is delicious.”

This recognition comes as the school prepares to unveil its state-of-the-art facility later this year, marking an exciting new chapter in its journey from a humble online platform to a premier destination for food lovers.
Founded by Richard and Sophia Yarrow, Yarrow Cookery School began with online classes that quickly gained popularity for their focus on local, sustainable Scottish cuisine.
The new cookery school, among the businesses to be based at Longniddry Steading, south of the East Coast Main Line, will offer a space where guests can immerse themselves in cooking.
The facility will feature a cutting-edge kitchen, dining area and bar space where participants can unwind with a cocktail or local Scottish ale after class.

The school is committed to sustainability, featuring electric vehicle charging stations and sourcing ingredients from local producers.
Classes such as ‘Local Scottish Seafood’ and ‘Ottolenghi-Styled Feasts’ will highlight the best of Scotland's culinary heritage while introducing global flavours and techniques.
