A TRANENT man has been jailed for his part in a shocking hammer attack that left the victim with serious injuries.
William Peacock, of Caesar Way, was involved in the assault on Marc Hughes with the blunt object on the town’s Kings Road on May 6 last year.

Peacock, 35, admitted the offence during a hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier this month and was sentenced to 11 months in custody last week.
Co-accused Andrew Yorkston, 34, from Prestonpans, was previously jailed for 12 months after he had admitted the assault charge, along with an offence of possessing an offensive weapon.
Third accused 34-year-old Lewis Sives, of Westbank Terrace, Macmerry, will be sentenced for his part in the attack on Mr Hughes next month.
