A TEENAGE drug dealer who was caught taking thousands of pounds' worth of cocaine with him on a bus from London to Edinburgh has been given a prison sentence.
Ashawn Studholme was found with the consignment of Class A drugs when police stopped him at Edinburgh Bus Station at about 8am on December 31 last year.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told that Studholme, who was living in Musselburgh at the time, appeared “extremely nervous” while speaking to police officers.
It was found that the bag the 19-year-old was carrying held a total of 125 grams of cocaine, which the court was told would have a street value of £16,000, along with a quantity of cash and a mobile phone.
The court was told that the phone was later analysed and found to hold information that proved the teenager was involved in the supply of cocaine.

The dealer’s lawyer said that his client was currently serving a 15-month prison sentence for an analogous offence.
Sheriff Kevin McCarron had deferred sentence on Studholme to last week for social work reports and he appeared back in the dock from custody last Tuesday.
Sheriff McCarron said that he was taking into account Studholme’s age and the early stage he had pleaded guilty at and sentenced him to a 12-month jail term, backdated to his remand date in January.
Studholme pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, namely cocaine, at Edinburgh Bus Station between June 1 and December 31, 2023.
