A MUSSELBURGH man hit his partner in the head before chasing her and forcing her into a vehicle, a court has heard.
Mark Howie seized hold of the woman's body before lashing out and hitting her in the head at an address at Blandfield in Edinburgh.
Howie, 58, also repeatedly pushed the woman on the body before chasing after her and repeatedly forcing her into a vehicle during the incident on August 20 last year.
He also shouted, swore, acted aggressively and uttered abusive comments towards her.
The police were alerted to the attack and Howie was later arrested and charged.
Howie, of Eskview Terrace, denied all the allegations but was found guilty on two amended charges following a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier this year.
He returned to the Capital court on Monday for sentencing but Sheriff Julius Komorowski was told that the required social work reports were not available.
The sheriff agreed to defer sentence for the second time to next month.
