A TRANENT drug dealer who was caught with thousands of pounds' worth of Class A drugs has been jailed for more than two years.

Alan Donaldson, of Toll House Gardens, was found to be concerned in the supply of cocaine to others between August 2022 and January last year.

Donaldson, who tried to claim that he was only selling the quantities of the drugs to friends after being found with the large cocaine haul, was sentenced to a 27-month prison term at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday.

The court heard that the 31-year-old dealer had been spending a lot of time with a peer group who had been using the drug on nights out and he had become involved in buying in larger quantities.

His own use of the drug then increased and the court heard that he began missing work due to his increased habit.

Donaldson pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine from his home address between August 26, 2022, and January 11, 2023.
