TWO separate crashes on major roads in East Lothian have led to multiple lanes restricted northbound and southbound this afternoon, with emergency services in attendance.
Traffic Scotland alerted drivers that there was an incident south-west of East Linton at 12.41pm on the A1, with another alert being sent out at 12.49pm on the A199 close to Dolphingstone, resulting in the road being closed in both directions.
The A1 northbound (westbound) exit slip at Dolphingstone is currently closed, with motorists being advised to be cautious on approach or use an alternative route; Police Scotland are in attendance.
The incident just outside East Linton has resulted in both lanes being restricted northbound and southbound.
The update on Traffic Scotland's website for the Dolphingstone incident reads: "The A1 northbound exit slip at Dolphingstone is currently closed due to a road traffic accident.
On social media, Police Scotland said: "The A1 slip road is closed northbound at Dolphingstone near Tranent following a two-vehicle crash that happened around 11.50am on Monday.
"The A199 is also closed in both directions and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
"Motorists are advised to use caution on approach and to find an alternative route at this time."
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
