THE 2024 Honest Lad Billy Innes and Honest Lass Eilidh Bonthron viewed the exhibition of the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry at Musselburgh Museum.
Accompanied by the 2023 Honest Lad Aidan McLaren and Honest Lass Ellen Brown, they also took the chance to refresh their knowledge of the Honest Toun during their visit last Friday.
Alistair Barclay, president of the Honest Toun’s Association, which organises the annual Musselburgh Festival, joined the official party.
They were welcomed to the museum by its chairman Alister Hadden.
Billy and Eilidh led this year’s Musselburgh Festival, which came to an end last Saturday.
The Scottish Diaspora Tapestry is celebrating its 10-year anniversary by going on a summer safari across East Lothian.
It was a major project for Scotland’s 2014 Homecoming, and sponsored locally as heir to the Prestonpans Tapestry completed in 2010 and supported with grants from CreativeScotland, EventScotland and the Scottish Government.
The tapestry was first showcased at Prestonpans Community Centre for a week in May 2014.
It was designed by Cockenzie artist Andrew Crummy and, after its unveiling, toured the world for nearly two years, with exhibitions across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Now, after returning from its global tour, this year the tapestry is travelling around East Lothian in July and August.
