A Dalgety Bay firm is helping to continue the trend towards digital transformation in the marine and shipping industry.

Cooper Software, based in St David's Drive, will implement a cloud-based system to support growth, improve operational efficiency and enhance customer and supplier experiences.

They'll carry out this work for Star International, a marine and offshore services and supply company, whose head office is on Merseyside and who work with cruise and ferry operators, as well as shipping companies, ports, dockyards and military organisations.

They've selected the Dalgety Bay firm to deliver the enterprise resource planning (ERP) with a programme based on industrial and financial systems (IFS) Cloud software.

Matthew Ball, managing director at Star International, said: “Our engagement with Cooper Software focuses on how we will underpin our strategic business objectives through the deployment of marine-specific, best practice processes.

"They are helping us to understand our roles throughout the project which empowers us to meet aggressive time scales for what is a significant business transformation project.”

Lubin Hoque, sales director at Cooper Software, added: “The approach we have developed helps customers to evaluate IFS and build a complete understanding of the business benefits and total cost of ownership associated with an ERP transformation.

"We are also meticulous at defining the optimal engagement model based on the capability and capacity of internal customer resources.”
