Jack Butland spoke to RangersTV at the club's Player of the Year awards. Here is what he had to say.

How do you feel to pick up the awards?

I am over the moon. It is always nice to get some recognition. I know I get it but it is your own teammates voting for an award for you and obviously the fans as well so it is something special. It is an honour to play with them, an honour to play in front of them. It is nice to receive these awards.

To have settled in so quickly in your first season must make it all the more special?

I have loved it, I have loved every minute. We are not done yet. It has been a great start on an individual note. As a team we got off to a difficult start and we had to grind and work together and that is what we did. We did it together. Yes, I have had to feature at times and I am really pleased with the moments that I have had. There are going to be some big moments between now and the end of the season too. It is a great honour. Really pleased about it and hopefully we can pick up some team silverware between now and the end of the season too.

You have built quite a relationship with the fans as well?

I get them, I think they get me. Together, I understand what it means to play for this club. Performances always help. We have a good relationship, things have gone well for us as a group. The relationship I have with the fans is amazing, the support I get from them, the love I get from them is second to none and I am really grateful for that. I thank them for voting for me and hopefully we can bring them some rewards between now and the end of the season.

How much do you relish this time of the season?

It is the business end of the season. I know we got the opportunity to win a trophy in December but this is the business end of the season now where your hard work, your ability sort of takes over and you have to get the job done. We feel we are in a great place, despite the disappointment of a couple of weeks ago. We still have it all in our hands and that is what you want at this stage of the season. Looking forward to the challenge, as all the boys are, and hopefully we can get it done.
