Amore Ristorante Pizzeria

This Glasgow Times editor-approved Italian serves generous portions meaning you will never leave hungry.
Open since 2008, diners can expect a menu with all the classics from pizza and pasta to mains like Pollo Milanese and Salmone All' Amore.
La Lanterna

This city centre staple is frequented by footballers and celebrities alike. Head inside the unassuming door on Hope Street and prepare to be transported into the magical world of Glasgow's oldest family-run Italian.
Paesano Pizza

Authentic, traditional, wood-fired artisan pizzas. This restaurant spawned many copycats but none get it quite right. Dare I say, it's better than some of the pies I've had in Italy.
Banca Di Roma

Banca di Roma is perfect for a swanky evening, situated inside a gorgeous former bank in Royal Exchange Square. The vibe is similar to The Ivy and the extensive menu is perfect for sharing.
West End
Celino's
235 Dumbarton Rd, Partick, Glasgow G11 6AB
The family-run Italian delicatessen and cafe opened its second location in Partick back in 2017 and has been a hit in the area since.
The trattoria serves fresh pasta, pizza and wine with the mantra of "tutto per tutti" (everything for everyone).
If you're in the East End, head to Celino's original location on Alexandra Parade.

This city institution is open for breakfast, brunch and dinner. The restaurant was included in The Good Food Guide as one of Britain's 100 Best Local Restaurants of 2023.
Santa Lucia Pasta
4-6 Byres Rd, Partick, Glasgow G11 5JY
The pasta-focussed sister restaurant to Santa Lucia in Merchant City is incredible.
Pasta dishes are inspired from all corners of Italy and made fresh in-house daily. The sun-shaped ravioli di capesante e gamberi (pasta parcels stuffed with king scallops and king prawns) with scallop roe sauce is the stuff of dreams.
Caprese Don Costanzo
13 Woodside Cres, Glasgow G3 7UL
Another hotspot for spotting football stars, this family-run Italian is picturesque. Tuck into a pollo parmigiana with a side of penne arrabbiata and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere complete with red gingham tablecloths and candid pictures decorating the walls.
West Side Tavern
162 Dumbarton Rd, Partick, Glasgow G11 6XE
This retro American-style Italian next to Kelvinbridge Station is one of the few spots in the city to score New York-style pizza. We recommend The Spice Boi, a delectable combination of mozzarella, pepperoni, hot honey and chillies. In addition to tavern pizzas, the menu has a selection of tasty pastas and starters that change with the seasons.

At this hip Italian nook on Victoria Road, booking is a must. The cosy space serves pizza, pasta and "other Italian grub" with rotating specials and a killer drinks list.
Battlefield Rest
55 Battlefield Rd, Langside, Glasgow G42 9JL
Inside of the landmark Battlefield Rest you'll find a continental bistro that balances Italian and Scottish flavours. Since original owner Marco Giannasi sold up last year after half a century in the business, the restaurant has continued to win awards for its Italian food.

A go-to pizza spot in the Southside, this gold-themed restaurant is all about glitz and glamour.
Errol's Hot Pizza
379 Victoria Rd, Govanhill, Glasgow G42 8RZ
This elusive pizza spot in Govanhill is worth a trip if you can get a table (they do save some for walk-ins). It is a very small sit-in pizza shop, as explained on their Instagram page. One of the few remaining BYOB spots in the city.
East End
Celentano's
28-32 Cathedral Square, Glasgow G4 0XA
Arguably one of the best restaurants in the city (Michelin Guide approved), Celentano's serves seasonal Italian plates made with sustainably sourced ingredients. The cod doughnuts are addictive - you have been warned.
La Vita Barrachnie
175 Baillieston Rd, Baillieston, Glasgow G32 0TN
Seemingly made for social media with its huge pink flower arch, this Italian is adored by influencers. Expect a decorative Vespa, Italian marble-esque statues and neon signs.
Coia's

The East End institution has just celebrated its 95th year with big plans for 2024. The venue has a cult following with a second outlet in the works.
