Tranent Medical Practice has launched a new website to help improve communication with patients.

The website allows patients to do a number of things – including order repeat prescriptions, request sick lines and register with the practice – online rather than over the phone.

It is hoped that this will reduce the number of phonecalls made to the practice and allow patients to get through to the service quicker.

A spokesperson for the practice said: “We have now launched our new and improved website. As well as providing information about the practice, our services and how to access them, it also enables patients to register with us, request sick lines and repeat prescriptions, update their contact details, cancel appointments and submit a range of other requests to us online, rather than having to phone us or hand paper forms in.

“The website contains a useful section entitled ‘Who Do I See’, providing information on which is the most appropriate service to contact for different types of issues. It also has links to a wide range of other services including physio, CTAC (community treatment and care services), mental health, minor injuries, MYPAS [Midlothian Young People’s Advice Service] and more. The new website is also optimised for use on smartphones and tablet devices, making it even easier for patients to use no matter what type of device they are using. We hope our patients enjoy using the new website, and that it makes communicating with us easier.”

The website is at tranentmedical practice.co.uk
