A PORT Seton man who shouted abuse at his partner has been banned from having any contact with her.

Stephen Todd left the victim “upset” when he called her “a s*** mum” and “a rat and a slut” during the aggressive verbal exchange at Bridge Street, Musselburgh, earlier this year.

Following the incident, the woman called her father to collect her and take her home but later that afternoon she found that 24-year-old Todd had turned up at her property in Tranent.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told that the woman was forced to call the police after spotting the offender in her front garden while holding a knife.

Todd pleaded guilty to two offences when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in August and sentence was deferred.

He was back in the dock on Monday, where Sheriff Matthew Auchincloss fined him a total of £360.

The sheriff also imposed a non-harassment order banning Todd, of Links Road, from having any contact with his ex-partner for the next six months.

Todd admitted to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and repeatedly shouting abuse at his former partner at Bridge Street, Musselburgh, on April 13.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in Tranent on the same date.
