Flood barriers are being placed on a Musselburgh street this afternoon in preparation for predicted high tides over the weekend.
East Lothian Council say the barriers are in place as a “precautionary measure” to help prevent or reduce flooding from the River Esk.
While there are no weather warnings or flood warnings in place for the county this weekend, weather predictions suggest that high tides are a possibility.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: “Following forecasts of predicted high tides over the weekend, flood barriers will be placed this afternoon to the west of the Goose Green Bridge on New Street, Musselburgh, as a precautionary measure."
