A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged vehicle thefts in East Lothian and Midlothian.
The first vehicle was allegedly stolen from a property in Bonnyrigg early on Monday morning.
It was subsequently involved in a road crash with another vehicle on Bridge Street, Musselburgh, about 5.55am that day.
The second incident involved a vehicle allegedly stolen from the Loanhead area on Wednesday, 27 September.
It was involved in a crash with another vehicle on Old Dalkeith Road, Danderhall, shortly after 5.50am that day.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of offences linked to both incidents.
"He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Friday)."
