A TEENAGER has been charged after thousands of pounds of damage was caused when hundreds of hay bales were ablaze.
Firefighters were called out on May 8 to a field to the south of the A1 near Dunbar.
The fire could be seen from all over Dunbar and the surrounding area.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A 17-year-old male has been cautioned and charged with culpable and reckless conduct following a fire-raising on May 8.
“This occurred near to farmland at Spott Road, Dunbar, and caused a significant amount of damage, costing thousands.
“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
