North Berwick Rugby Club have teamed up with Edinburgh-based broadband company GoFibre to help foster youth rugby development.

GoFibre is an independent broadband builder and provider, bringing lightning-fast, reliable broadband to homes and businesses across Scotland and the north of England.

It has shown its "unwavering support" to the sport through sponsorship of the Melrose Sevens and has now become North Berwick's youth sections primary sponsor.

With the sponsorship officially kicking off this month, GoFibre will support North Berwick Rugby Club by offering high-speed connectivity and fostering rugby development for both girls and boys within the North Berwick High School catchment area.

GoFibre is set to feature as the shirt sponsor on the club’s male under-15, under-16 and under-18 match strips by way of nurturing community involvement and promoting sportsmanship – marking a significant milestone for both organisations.

The company's contribution will extend to North Berwick Rugby Club's roster of activities, including the forthcoming Mini Rugby Festival – an event uniting more than 800 players from East Lothian and beyond.

Neil Conaghan, CEO at GoFibre, said: “It is a real honour to continue to support grassroots rugby in Scotland through this new sponsorship of North Berwick Rugby Club.

"We recognise that these groups face significant challenges during what are tough economic times and so we are keen to play our part in supporting the club to build sustainable futures as central pillars of the community.

“By combining the rollout of cutting-edge full fibre broadband connectivity with support for local communities through sports like rugby, we are able to advance the growth and capabilities of local clubs, homes and businesses. We’re very much looking forward to seeing the club thrive as the season starts.’

Ken Muir, rugby director at North Berwick Rugby Club, added: “North Berwick Rugby is delighted to connect with GoFibre as lead sponsor of our youth rugby section.

"Their investment in the future within our community matches the club's aspiration to deliver high speed and modern rugby teams from age 12 to 18.

“The new strips endorse our aspiration to be the best we can, whilst the further investment from GoFibre in future years will allow us to focus on the rugby development for girls and boys in the North Berwick High School catchment.”
