FUN for all the family is in store at Musselburgh Children’s Gala this Saturday.

The popular event, organised annually by Musselburgh & Inveresk Community Council, will run from noon until 4pm at Fisherrow Links.

“The gala is a huge event which is much loved by children and adults alike,” said Irene Tait, community council chairperson.

Attractions will be circus skills, balloon making and magic shows by Alexander the Great.

Musselburgh & Penicuik BB Pipe Band will provide musical entertainment and dancers from the Musselburgh-based LCDC fitness and dance company will showcase their skills.

Also in attendance at the gala will members of the Rotary Club of Musselburgh and East Coast FM, which will arrange the music.

Inflatables and sideshows, as well as face painting, can be enjoyed.

Sizzlers will be serving food to keep those hunger pangs at bay and ice cream from J&J Ices will also be available.

Musselburgh Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets will be on hand for first aid and give information on the unit’s activities.

Gala tickets, £2.50, can be bought from The Brunton box office and enable children to enjoy all the shows, as well as receiving a goodie bag. They are not available to buy on the day.

Mrs Tait paid tribute to all the volunteers who helped hand out the children’s goodie bags at the event.
