TALENTED teenage footballers are celebrating doing the treble after adding two cups to their league success.

Haddington Athletic’s under-17s have been collecting silverware and picked up the Michael Moran Cup last Tuesday night.

Home advantage proved key as they overcome Linton Hotspur 3-2 in the final, which was played at Millfield.

Then, they lifted the Victor Parish Bathrooms Cup after overcoming Edinburgh City Blacks 2-1.

The cup successes came on the heels of the side winning the South East Region Division Two.

Keith Rudyj, coach at Haddington, worked alongside Ross Grieve and was delighted with the treble and piled praise on the youngsters.

He said: “It has been a cracking season.

“Credit to the boys, it has been their work.

“From the minute they came back for pre-season, they had the mindset to go for it this year.

“They have not taken their foot off the gas and they have made us look good.

“All the credit goes to the lads – they have been fantastic.”
