A motorist caught driving a vehicle while serving a road ban will be sentenced later this year.

Steven Grigg, 56, was stopped by police on High Street in Tranent on September 20, 2021 and was found to be disqualified from driving.

Officers also discovered Grigg, of Trevelyan Terrace, Pencaitland, had no valid insurance for the vehicle due to his previous ban.

The banned driver appeared for sentencing at the capital’s sheriff court on Monday after he had previously pleaded guilty to the two offences.

Sheriff John Cook continued the interim driving ban and deferred full sentence to October and asked for a supplementary social work report to be prepared.
