“ESSENTIAL” works to address “an area of deteriorating carriageway” will be carried out on the A1 this week.
BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, are planning to carry out the works on the road at Cockburnspath Roundabout and its southbound approach.
The works are due to take place from 7.30pm to 6am from tomorrow (Monday) to Friday (June 2).
A spokesperson for BEAR Scotland said: “The A1 will remain open during these works.
“However, to ensure the safety of our workforce and the travelling public during these works, a 10mph convoy traffic management system will be implemented.
“The convoy system will be removed outwith the working hours.
“Local residents will be permitted access during the works, although there may be times when this is restricted due to the nature of the works and to ensure the safety of our workforce.
“Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.”
